We are a registered non-for-profit and our goal has always been simple - to ensure our local older citizens are looked after in the later years of their lives, in the area in which they grew up and to continue a life well lived.About the roleWe are looking for an Occupation Therapist to join our team at Wearne Cottesloe. The role is permanent part-time, 3 days per week.What you will be doingUndertake therapy assessments, treatment plans and treatments in partnership with residents and representatives, and in line with resident needs, professional guidelines and organisational process Liaise with medical, nursing, care, other allied health, service providers and equipment providers to ensure holistic, comprehensive delivery of care Document and report care interventions, observations, changes in needs and resident feedback in an accurate, objective and efficient mannerEnsure a clean, pleasant and welcoming physical environmentContribute to auditing, review and service development processesAssist in the review and dissemination of allied health policies, procedures and assessment tools under the direction of the Allied Health Team Leader and Service ManagerProvide advice and education to staff to ensure appropriate careEnsure compliance with all laws, legislation, regulatory frameworks, quality standards, policy, processes and work instructionsProvide leadership to the Wearne therapy team, including performance reviews, supporting team members and providing educationHave a key role in the development of activity plans for residents, both group and individual activities.Who we are looking forEssential: Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)Ability to work in a team environmentDemonstrated capacity to take a leadership roleReliable and positive work ethicNational Police Clearance (current to within three-years)Australian working rightsBasic computer skillsWell developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsDesirable: Experience working in aged care, community services or disability services Experience working in a client focused culture that values continuous improvementExcellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt work priorities and meet deadlinesDemonstrated understanding of accreditation standards and funding rulesBenefits and perksSalary packaging, up to $15,700 tax freeDiscounted private health care ratesFree uniform AUD Perth 6000
